HOT ! 50’s Black Sheath Low Back Bow and Button Trim Cocktail Dress by Laura Lee Originals St. Louis

Jet black evening dress in ribbed rayon faille. Extraordinary little black dress with lots of designer detailing to make it stand out from the crowd. Modified princess seam lines. Front has unique built in bow effect with long slimming darts for sheath style. But the back is the star with long flanges that end in waist whittling seams then flare out again with pleats. The flanges are folded over at the top, then sewn down into the seam. Finally there is a long row of faux covered buttons. Oh my!! Laura Lee must have been quite a dressmaker!

- condition - Very good. Tiny pull at the center back seam area where a couple of stitches might be needed. The side seam has been released to make it larger at some point and the old seam lines are visible. The dress could be taken in again so this would not show. A few shiny spots from over pressing. Otherwise, deep dark black. Clean with no holes, spots or stains noted. Photos have been lightened to show details.
